Description
Similar to other Fig trees, like the Ficus Burgundy, this is a smaller version, one which does great as a houseplant, and can even be trimmed to keep it smaller.
Also known as Fig Trees, and over 850 different species, one of the largest genera of flowering plants. Ficus is a pantropical genus of trees, shrubs, and vines occupying a wide variety of ecological niches; most are evergreen, but some deciduous species are found in areas outside of the tropics and to higher elevations. Fig species are characterized by their unique inflorescence and distinctive pollination syndrome, which uses wasp species belonging to the family Agaonidae for pollination.

These trees need good bright indirect light for about half a day. A little direct sun in the morning is OK. For outside they like shade.
These trees need a sandy soil that drains well. Water when the top couple of inches is dry.
Feed once a month during spring and summer. Use fertilizer listed for Fiddle-Leaf trees, or Fig trees in general. Water soluble or pellets are fine.
The Elastica can be trimmed to keep it shorter indoors. These trees will eventually reach about 6' to 10'' indoors, and need 2' to 3' of space around.
This plant is toxic to people and pets.
